Definition of a Pod: The Ripples Pod is a fresh food product, which needs to be cared for differently than your regular printer cartridge. Our special patented Pod cartridge contains 100% natural coffee extract/ malt/black carrot/ riboflavin (Glow Pod) used as a new medium to print exquisite images with.
It may look like an ordinary printer cartridge, but our Pod is anything but and it requires some special care that you and your staff need to know.
Here are the Do’s and Don’ts of Pod care.
Do not leave pods unattended in vehicles and keep them away from heat sources.
Do keep them in a cool dark place like a drawer or cupboard away from a heat source.
The ideal storage temperature to keep pods fresh is 21°C around 70°F.
Avoid touching the pod’s nozzles with your fingertips, the oil can clog the tiny nozzles
After a pod is opened it has a lifespan of up to 1600 prints (Enhanced print quality reduces yield by 30%) or 1 month after opening. To keep the pod printing optimally, it is important to keep the pod in the Ripple Maker with the Ripple Maker powered on.
When performing a pod setup, we recommend using white printer paper for the test, it will give you the clearest reading.
There is an automated process that prevents to pod from drying up, this occurs only when the Ripple Maker is connected to the electricity and powered on.
If you must remove a pod before it is finished, clean with the lint-free tissue that comes inside the box and replaces the plastic guard that came with the pod, this will prevent it from drying out.
When replacing the pod gently slide the pod into the correct position without force. When removing the pod wiggle it gently to slide it out.
