Connect the Ripple Maker to Internet

The article describes how to connect the Ripple Maker to the Internet

We recommend that you stay connected to the internet at all times to receive new content, software updates, and Ripples from the mobile app.

Basic internet actions:

  1. Verify physical connection - either Wifi Dongle or Ethernet cable.
  2. For Wifi - Tap the Wifi icon or "wifi settings" message, verify the Wifi is set to "on" and the chosen network is "connected".
  3. Verify that other devices, like a smartphone, can use this network.
  4. To verify internet connection: Tap settings icon,  Tap on the "Advanced" option, then, choose  "Browser".  "Drink Ripples" website will come up when you are online.

 

1st Connection:

  1. Turn off the Ripple Maker.
  2. Enter the Wifi USB Dongle or Ethernet LAN cable to the relevant slot in the back of the Ripple Maker: Ripple_Maker_-_connection.jpg
  3. Press the power button to turn your Ripple Maker on.

 

Using Wifi:

  1. Check the Wifi dongle for a blue flashing light. The blue light tells that the Dongle is working.
  2. Tap the Wifi icon or  the "wifi settings" message or scroll from up to down and tap the Android WIFI button:

  1. Turn the wifi on from the Ripple Maker(top right corner). 
  2. If you don't see any available networks  -  turn the wifi on--> off--> on.
  3. Choose the required network (verify that this network is 2.4Ghz & other devices, like a smartphone, can use this network) and enter the correct password if needed; In case of "authentication problem" message  - please verify the password is entered correctly.
  4. Be sure that you have “connected” under the network name before closing the menu.    
  5. Tap the back (android_back_icon.jpg) to the previous screen.

 

Using Ethernet LAN cable:

  1. Check the Ethernet cable is inserted correctly.
  2. Open the Ripple Maker lid and check that the Ethernet cable connection leads are set:
    1. Left light = constant Green
    2. Right light = Blinking Orange
  3. Tap the back (android_back_icon.jpg) to the previous screen.

 

Using Smartphone as Hotspot:

  1. Check the Wifi dongle for a blue flashing light. The blue light tells that the Dongle is working.
  2. Tap the Wifi icon or the "wifi settings" message.
  3. Turn the wifi on from the Ripple Maker(top right corner).

  1. If you don't see any available networks  -  turn the wifi on--> off--> on.
  2. Choose your Smart Phone's Hotspot name and enter the correct password if needed; In case of "authentication problem" message  - please verify the password is entered correctly.
  3. Be sure that you have “connected” under the network name before closing the menu. 

     4. Tap the back (android_back_icon.jpg) to the previous screen.

 

Using Captive Portal

  1. In case you need registration to your internet network (on top of the Wifi password)
  2. To verify internet connection: Tap settings icon,  Tap on the "Advanced" option, then, choose  "Browser".  "Drink Ripples" website will come up when you are online.
  3. Tap the back (android_back_icon.jpg) to the previous screen.

 

Using Permanent Wifi User

  1. In case of your local Wifi network password is changing frequently, like in Hotels.
  2. Please provide the Dongle Mac Address # to your relevant IT (see picture).Wifi_Dongle.JPG

Verify the Ripple Maker is connected to the Internet:

To verify internet connection: Tap settings icon,  Tap on the "Advanced" option, then, choose  "Browser".  "Drink Ripples" website will come up when you are online.
